10-28-08 Instead of raising the cost, by donations, of the football bus trip to Fresno, the sports people decided instead to take the money out of the school site funds which are provided for educational needs of the school. Instead of spending the funds on educational items for Vasquez, they decided to take the money out of the school site fund because the superintendent wouldn't allow them to take it from the general budget for all the schools and students.
The sheer arrogance of the sports groupies that think nothing of stealing $3,000 from the rest of the students to fund the few that are interested in team competitive sports. This shows that Vasquez is a sports high school and anyone who wants a decent education needs to leave.
These are the same sports people that punished the entire team for what Lasater said and then told everyone that Lasater was the cause of their punishment . This was about one week before he killed himself.
The competitive sports program must be removed from any source of school educational funding and funded entirely by the sports groupies' donations. The sports department needs to be punished for their part in the Lasater tragedy and the damage they did to the rest of the students by their improper group punishment ideas.
