4-10-06 The Kathy Howald controlled so-called master plan committee met today. They as usual refused to provide this newspaper with an agenda or minutes of their meetings. This is in violation of the Brown act.
Kathy Howald pays little attention to most laws that get in our way of her personal control of the her projects.
But even the great Howald can not get the public to answer her questionnaire. Out of the approximate 6000 registered voters in Acton and Aqua Dulce only a measly 250 answered her questionnaire. Even these few answers are suspect as there was no requirement to validate that the persons responding voters or even residents of the community.
Then it to get their answer count up they held an assemble at Vasquez High where they got only 198 people out of 500 in attendance to fill out another version of a questionnaire. Since the parents have already pulled more than half what the kid's out Vasquez leaving a lot of the underachievers and half did not even bother filling out the questionnaire.
When will Howald and her followers realize that Vasquez is a disaster and a failure. Few in this community is going to vote on $25 million in bonds for failure.
You must read an interesting news story in the daily news The Union Leader and the Principal bragged about giving the students a period in the morning to do miscellaneous tasks. They forgot to tell you they didn't lengthen the school day but they cut back from an already skimpy 55 minute instructional period to only a 50 minute instructional period.
Which is the shortest we can find within the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley.
When all else fails cut the length instructional period by 10%.!!!
