10-26-05 rev 1-23-06. The CA Department of Education heard Acton's application for Hardship Funding today. They decided to table the application until their December 2005 meeting to give the new superintendent more of an opportunity to better craft a case to support the Hardship application.
They have have now tabled it again to the February 2006 meeting.
They were initially leaning towards denial because the application as crafted by our prior superintendent (Wagner) clearly did not qualify for hardship funding, particularly citing the 3 successive failed bonds.
Dr. Hutak asked for additional time to clarify the application, which they granted.
