Acton Agua Dulce Unified School District

Dr. Wagner resigns

9-8-05 At 9:53 PM Dr. Wagner submitted her notice of resignation to the school board by e-mail. She will file her formal notice of resignation on Friday, September 9, 2005 and we will attempt to obtain a copy to post online.

Her short career in the district has certainly been controversial. As one of her strongest critics of her professional actions, I would say that in a personal environment she has always been polite and friendly.

It has always been my personal opinion she was a superior superintendent to Bandaras, but her vision for the school district reflected her Palmdale upbringing and her reliance on LACOE, consultants and attorneys to advise her has been a failure.

We must now start a difficult process of finding a new school superintendent, which will be undoubtedly done by the new school board.

But we all need to look at this as an opportunity to return the Acton-Agua Dulce School District to its “Distinguished” status by focusing the budget expenditures on academics in the classroom, while providing sports and extra-curricular activities by volunteer and volunteer fundraising.

My advise for Dr. Wagner in her new position as Superintendent at the Mark Keppel District in the Antelope Valley is to either work in a community that doesn't care as much about its school district as we do or listen more carefully to the community and less to consultants and union leaders.
