Acton Agua Dulce Unified School District

Wagner Pimping for the Airport  with a Ground school and an assembly

2-16-05 The school superintendent, in a conspiracy with school board member Steve Harbison, has authorized a ground school to be conducted by the District at the Agua Dulce Airport. Each student pays the airport a fee for supplies and instruction and receives high school credit.

The Airport permit (1404) does not authorize any ground school at the Airport and violates county law

This is simply unconscionable pandering by the superintendent and Harbison, who announced at the 2-10-05 school board meeting that he is a pilot and supports the Agua Dulce Airpark.

This class was established without ever being placed on the school board agenda and without any other public action. The ground school at the airport is to start a week before the hearing to revoke the airport’s permit, which is supported by the majority of the community.

Apparently the school will bear the full liability for injuries to the students in both the transport between the high school to the airport and the use of the buildings at the airport for classroom space. These buildings, of course, do not meet DSA standards.

There is some question as to whether a ground school is an appropriate high school class and whether it might fit as a vocational offering, such as an ROP.

But let’s get this straight, this class, which has not been approved by the elected board of trustees, is organized solely so that the airport can claim at its revocation hearing that they serve the community by holding classes at the airport.

To support the airport even more, the high school look tome away from instructional work   to stage a pro-airport assembly touting how wonderful the airport and aviation was and how the airport enhances the community of Agua Dulce. It amounted to nothing more than a biased pep rally orchestrated by the very minority in the community that approves this airport. No one was given an opportunity to present any opposition at this "rah-rah" airport rally held by Wagner and her minions.

This adds to violations created in handing out of pro-airport political and commercial advertising at Agua Dulce School and campaign literature for pro airport candidates for Agua Dulce Town Council

It is a violation of state law.

In addition, Wagner conspired to allow one-sided airport rally at High Desert School on 2-22-05. It was supposed to be a meeting to explain all sides of the airport issues to the community. But Wagner has helped to converted this meeting to an airport controlled event where only pro-airport people will control the form of the meeting and who gets to present any issues. She did this by not placing "the use of facilities" as a board agenda item at the last board meeting, which would have allowed public input as to the format of the meeting.

Lastly, and most importantly, the board refuses to even discuss the safety issues and state funding issues of the Agua Dulce School, which is located one mile away and in direct line with the runway.

Wagner and Harbison have converted the school district into a paid, partisan, political entity, doing all it can to force this airport’s expansion, along with the destruction of property (home) values and lifestyles for their personal gain.
