1-13-05 The rallying cry for the Acton Agua Dulce School District
The Scotsman moduler’s were first rented for a 5-year contract in 1999 at 510.00 per month for 60 months.
After repeated demand by the some of the board and the community for the contract that was never produced, the Superintendent got a quote on 12-9-04 and signed a 36-month extension at 435.00 per month without public input or even bringing it to the board for approval.
| The cost of the buildings in the original contract to purchase was | 30,100.00 |
| Paid under the 60 month contract at 510.00/month | 30,600.00 |
| To be paid under the new 36th month contract 435.00/month | 15,660.00 |
| Knockdown and return freight; | 4,096.00 |
| Total rental cost with no ownership value | 50,356.00 |
| Total pay in excess of cost | 20,235.00 |
| Equity in modulars | 0.00 |
All of this while 16 permanent classrooms sit empty at the Acton School.
This is why the community does not support the school system and refuses to approve bonds to give the school more money to waste.
