3-3-04 We have gotten rid of Dusick and Bandaras, who were the evil twins that did their best to destroy this school district.
Their plan "to make the community feel the pain" by threatening to close Agua Dulce and Acton Schools, De-unify, or simply close the district and merge it into the Antelope Valley backfired on them.
We now have a School Board and a proposed new superintendent that are showing a flicker of a light behind their eyes.
Lets have the community join with them and bring back class size reduction for all K to 2nd grades (20 students per class) and 30 students or less for grades 4 to 6.
Lets close the failed Red Rover site and operate Vasquez High at the Antelope Woods site and reopen the Acton site as High Desert Middle School.
Lets save the $243.000 wasted on rented portables and spend it on the kids for labs, supplies and books. And lets take a long hard look at the full cost of the sports program and use that money on education and convert sports to an all volunteer program.
Lets fan that flickering flame into a roaring fire to bring our schools back to distinguished status again.
Its not the buildings - its the teachers, the students and the supplies that create quality education.
