To the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District board of trustees att Dr. Wagner
Re: Intent of Committee The Community Education Committee intends to resume meeting the second and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning March 23, 2004. The location of our meetings will be at Hedgecock Hall the same as before and will commence at 7:30 pm. Once again all members of the community are welcome. It is our hope that individual Acton - Agua Dulce Unified School Board Members will find the time to attend and participate.
The primary intent of our Committee is to assist the district in achieving and maintaining a viable fiscal status and through the accomplishment of this goal to enhance the academic quality of education for the children of our community.
To begin this process we have already submitted a formal request from the district for copies of the needs assessment associated with the construction of a new high school, the 2002-2003 budget, the 2003-2004 budget, any needs assessment studies conducted within the past 10 years, and Dr. Wagner's contract.
We intend to explore many areas of potential revenue enhancement including refinancing the COP obligation, increased developer fees, temporary use of the 1 1/2% reserve fund, Prop 55 application, Morgan-Hart 9th grade CSD, establishment of a multi-year fiscal projection process, and a programmed based investment portfolio.
A quality education for the children of our community is the top priority of our Committee and we know that as Board Members this is your goal as well. Working together we will overcome the current crisis before us.
Sincerely, Frank Zolnierowicz Kathleen M. Howald Community Education Committee, Co-chairs
