Request by Surplus Property to present their report at the 9-21-04 School Board meeting

9-15-04 - The Surplus Property Committee met Monday evening at Meadowlark School and discussed the items that should be included in the report. A draft report has been written and the committee will meet next Monday at 7:00 PM in the Acton Community Center to discuss and hopefully approve this report.

We ask that in the Correspondence/Proposal/Reports section of next Tuesday’s School Board agenda, that a “Report from Surplus Property Committee” section be included. We anticipate that about 20 minutes is needed to present this report.

I know that you do not believe that the Surplus Property Committee is currently valid. The members that attended Monday’s meeting feel otherwise. The Board appointed the committee [Ed Code17389] and to my knowledge the Board not has accepted any resignations from the committee.

Should the Board accept resignations in the future and the committee falls below seven members, we believe it is the Board’s responsibility under the Education Code to appoint replacement members.
