Dear Members of the Surplus Property Committee:
As you know, we have met many times over the past few months for the purpose of responding to specific requests made of districts, via such a committee, when given the responsibility of determining the best use of surplus property. As you also know, we have had significant difficulties meeting as a group for a number of reasons. At this point, it might be summed up as “irreconcilable differences”.
After significant discussion with superintendents, county office representatives and legal counsel, I have determined that I intend to submit the report, with attached dissenting opinions, if any, to the Board on August 5. I will present this report as a document that never received a final vote of approval by the Surplus Property Committee, and request that the Board accepts the unapproved work of the committee as the final report due to the volatile nature of the committee and the apparent impasse the group has reached.
The report is attached, absent the items that appear in the appendix.
I appreciate any comments you wish to share with me on this issue. If you wish to submit documents for attachment, please do so by August 2 at 4p.m. in order that they might be placed in the report.
