Facilities Committee Agenda for the January 19, 2006 Special Meeting

The regular meeting set for the same time and places was cancelled as it was not posted 72 hours before the meeting. The special meeting is posted on the Acton School fence at least 24 hours before the meeting. A copy was sent to all local media (Acton Agua Dulce News. the Country Journal and the Vanguard News).

Chairperson/Secretary: Ron Bird, Members Charles Brink and Larry Layton, Non Voting member Max Duran past Board member

Held under the Brown Act. Some Basic Ground Rules: To encourage the free expression of ideas and should establish the open forum as an item on the agenda. As a convention, people may engage each other in discussion, but only two at a time. If a third or fourth party wishes to jump in they are encouraged to hold their comments until they are recognized. All discussions and disagreements should be aired in a spirit of community. The open forum section is an attempt to give all ideas voice to better find solutions to enhance the facilities that house the learning environment which are not on this Agenda.

2.3 action Elected a chairperson and Secretary for 2006

2.4 Discuss prioritizing deferred maintenance items and estimating rough cost for submission to budget committee and the board as requested at 1-11-06 board meeting.

2.5 action approve a motion that the board of stop assigning facilities issues to other committees such as the facilities aspects of the gym, the master plan, and the alternative funding committee but instead to have the facilities committee either joined with the other committee or separately reviewed the issue and issue a report

2.6 action request that Max Duran submit an application to the facilities committee now the is no longer a board member and thank the board for appointing Ron Bird as the new board representative to our committee. Further request that the Board advertise openings on the committee.
