2.2 Approve Minutes Approved minutes for 7-20-2005

2.3A Discuss Vasquez Gym No new news regarding the status of the gym since our last meeting.

2.4 Open forum No items

2.5A Facilities Philosophy The draft document was reviewed and approved for presentation to the Board. An updated document is attached.

2.5B 7000 Proposed Board Policy Discussion There is concern that the 7000 series of policies needs to be reviewed by the Committee since this section specifically deals with facility policies. A motion was passed that states:" The Facilities Committee requests that the 7000 policy reading be tabled until this document is made available publicly and the Facilities Committee and the community has a chance to review this document“.

2.6 Immediate term facility needs The committee reviewed the facility needs for the upcoming academic year by campus. Vasquez: About the same number of students are anticipated; the class schedule is being rearranged so that two fewer teachers are needed. This will free up classroom space. Hopefully a classroom can be converted for library usage. Additional shade via shade structures, shade screen and/or fast growing trees would be useful. Meadowlark: Enrollment is expected to decline freeing up one classroom. Hopefully this will allow for the library to be reopened. Agua Dulce: The biggest major outstanding issue is cribbing on several of the relocatable buildings. High Desert: No major outstanding issues. Hopefully the one period class can be moved to another classroom, so that the library can be reopened.
