Basically several people made the decision for everybody? (Definitely a school board member’s remark to the public.)
Why is it only good things happen when it’s the "small group" making the decisions on the school board? Why can’t several people of a community check up on the "small group" of people who state they are working for the community? After all wasn’t it the "small group of people" (school board) who could make the decision to bring in AV College without the community input? Also without the necessary legal ramifications to our town of Acton, since it is Acton Elementary we are discussing.
This Historical "Acton Elementary School has been in our community since 1938. Taken care of properly, as she ages our school can be here for another decade or two.
Also what about the new developments coming in to our district (approximately within the next 1 to 3yrs? Where will these kids go? You can’t close a permanent school to save a portable one. There is more surplus within this district then just at Acton Elementary School YES the school board is driving this right down our throats with out saying out loud Acton is the Surplus Site. This could not be further from the truth. Acton is not Surplus and we love our Historical School just as much as the all-portable sites at Agua Dulce and Red Rover.
So find another way to become financially sound. Keep our Acton kids here where they belong.
Do some better planning, you have a lot of different experts out there just waiting to help our school district become strong and financially sound. The people in Acton see and feel the frustration your lack of participation within the community generates.
We are not followers but achievers. let them help.
You closed the barn doors after the horses got out, and now you want us to pay for new horses. "Giddy yup and ride um cowboy." Here we go again.
