10-9-03. An organized group of thieves descended on Acton and Agua Dulce to trespass, steal, destroy and deface legal signs located on private property.
Signs on public property (road right of ways and power poles) are prohibited under PC 556A and are fair game to all. But signs on private property, with the owners' permission, are protected speech under the first amendment.
As a sidebar - the "Friends of Vasquez High School" were required to report their contributions by 9-23-03 to LA County. Surprise, surprise they have not reported anything as of 10-9-03. I assume they are spending to much time lying on the phone and stealing legal signs. Some questions for you:
Who are these thieves and lawbreakers?
Do you want them to control your schools?
If anyone tries to get you to support these bonds ask them who they are, who is supporting them?
If the group wants to correct their lawlessness we will post their contribution list here for everyone to see.
