 4 million down the drain

6-25-04 Dr Wagner, in answering Ron Bird's question about  the increase of $272,000 in the developer fee account expenses, stated today "All will be used to move modulars" (the dance of the modulars). Most of this will be spent at Vasquez and all of it will be wasted when and if a permanent school is built.

The the cost to move these new modulars will be added to the cost to move the existing modulars to the playing fields (about 1.5 million) and a year later to reconstruct the playing fields and move the modulars to other sites (about 2 million more).

Why don't we uses the $272,000 to buy more land at the Red Rover site and if the community will approve a bond, build the permanent buildings on the new land away from the freeway?

The school will never pass a bond with nearly 4 million to be thrown away in "the dance of the modulars".

If board members do not understand this the we need to follow Steve Harbenson advice and "See them at the ballot box".

Let us hope the board will see the failure of the "dance of the modulars" and put the money into education and/or buying added property for a proper High School
