Lights in your eyes

4-4-04 Here is a good idea from a San Fernando Valley resident. Another resident claimed that drug sales and other crimes would increase as the criminals need the light to work.

Most companies, schools, and residents seem to think lights shining off the property in the viewers eyes work. When in fact it just blinds the viewers and makes the criminals invisible. Ever look at a picture of the White House at night.  The walls are lit and most light sources are not visible.

Dumb County, School and Cal Trans think that lights in your eyes work.

Not about light
Re "L.A.: City of few lights" (March 29):

4-4-03 The only light I would like to see is from the moon and stars. Ever since Donald Lorenzen, the city has been trying to put streetlights on anything that doesn't move.

When will the city finally give up and realize that streetlights don't prevent crime, a great police force does? Use the money for additional police officers.
