What public records are so sensitive that the school goes to court to block access?

8-3-04 - Today I picked up the Acton-Agua Dulce school board agenda for the August 5th meeting, 7:30pm at Meadowlark, school.

There are a lot of interesting items in this agenda but I only want to talk about one of them right now.

Item 2.15 to ratify the agreement with Michelizzi, Schwabacher, Ward and Blanchi. RE: Civil Harassment Restraining Order – against Trish Knechtli by client Linda Wagner of the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District.

This means I would guess, that it was paid before board approved it

At an initial cost of $750.00 of our tax money at work I would presume? This it not the total bill nor does it include the cost of further work at already scheduled court hearings.

The school administration can’t seem to handle one hearing impaired mom who asked for special needs information? So we spend taxpayer money to take her to court so she can’t call the school or go to the district office?

Is this the way we shut up anyone who does not play by the school administrations rules? Is this the way moms and dads are kept in line?

I think that to be so scared of one mom who is only in the district 2 months after a 5 yr absence is terrible. Now her name and the schools attempt to use the courts to block her from seeing public records is made public by the school to intimidate her.

I sure hope this does not hurt her children, as news of such magnitude has a way of getting around small communities like ours. Parents will talk in front of their children and children have a way of carrying this back to the school with them. With our declining enrollment are they trying to force out 2 more students for lack of civility? After all isn’t it for the kids?

And just what public records are so sensitive that the school goes to this extreme to block her access?

Again I hope this action was worth the already lack of respect and credibility the school district administrators have?

My opinion is just this; your tactic’s stink and you have no right to call yourselves educators of a school district, do you think?
