8-5-03 The Acton Market and Acton Meats have new owners. Linda, the previous Market owner, has retired and moved to Arizona. The new owners, Fadel and Iyad Firas, and Saji Hannoun are committed to customer service. The only changes thus far are the market hours.
The Acton Market will be open until 10 PM, instead of closing at 8 PM. They feel this is more accommodating to their customers. They say that if we don’t have it, ask and we’ll get it. The new owners really want to keep the traditions of a friendly, small town market atmosphere.
Tim Heath, who owned Acton Meats, and we all respected and supported for 13 years, has moved to Ventura, California, where he soon will be opening a restaurant in early October. The restaurant is the Sidecar, at 3029 East Main Street near the mall; phone number is 805-653-7433. It’s a short and pleasant drive to Ventura, so go and support Tim’s new venture.
Let’s wish good luck to the Acton Market. With a good local market, we do not need a "super" market, which the community has twice defeated. Commercial development bring in commuters and the resultant crime.

From their website "It began with one piece of land, two separate dreams and a casual dinner conversation between Ray Watt and Don MacAdam."
It is a nice change from more homes and development back into agricultural use in the community. It is also a tribute to the "good" life that a rural environment can create. The principals are well known high end tract developers. But after they became part of the community they have seen a different view. I wish them best for their winery and their support for a rural life style in Agua Dulce.
Compared to developers that want to rape the community with strip mines and the like, these are "developers" we all can love.
