More on "night landings" the Airport

Here is the position of the airport on the recent evening landing

7-9-04 According to Bob Owens, CCAD member. The aircraft that landed at Agua Dulce Airpark on July 6 touch down at 8:38 P.M. Official sunset was 8:09 P.M. Civil Twilight is 30 minutes after, which means the aircraft could land legally up till 8:39 P.M. The aircraft radioed in 10 miles out, entered the pattern at 3500 feet, crossed over mid field for left traffic runway 4 as instructed by my personnel and landed on runway 4.

The actual time was 8:29 when the plane landed. I was sitting on the steps of my new airpark swimming pool as it flew over and touched down. So it was not a night landing, the pilot was early by 10 minutes. I stand by what I say, night landings are not tolerated and neither shall fraudulent claims. Please make the correction Thank you in advance, Barry Kirshner

As Mr Kirshner correctly states that the landing not a night landing. The pilot had 10 minutes before it would have became a night landing Charles Brink

7-7-24 -- At 8:38 P.M. on 7-6-04 in a large two-engine airplane (Lockeed Electra?) made a night evening landing at the Agua Dulce airport, reportedly out of the designated landing pattern and from a "not natural direction", very loud and at a low altitude. This aircraft was seen parked (and photographed) near the airport fueling station at 6:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, July 7, 2004. As an aside, it is noted that the cost of aviation fuel at this location continues to be less than at most airports within a 100 mile radius.

This is not the first night landing at Agua Dulce this year, and this activity is of strong safety concern to the residents of this community. Agua Dulce airpark/airport rules clearly state: No night operations permitted. Barry Kirshner has publicly stated during meetings of the Agua Dulce Town Council that: Night time aircraft activities are not tolerated at the Agua Dulce airpark (airport).
