County staff will present the water availability policy, discuss policies for approval of water wells, and answer questions.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the meetings is to provide information to affected communities about the Los Angeles County policy on water availability. This policy requires new development of homes and other buildings either to have access to municipal water or to have a well of demonstrated capacity. New development may not depend on hauled water. Although this policy has been in place for a number of years, new procedures were implemented in January 2003 to assure compliance. These meetings will address the health protection basis of the policy, explain exceptions, and discuss requirements for wells. The speakers will also answer questions from persons attending.
