The Agua Dulce Airport just obtained a low impact ground filming permit for April 1, 2005 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It has no aircraft use and in fact will close the airport for the day, because the filming will use the runway and taxi-ways.
No explosives or similar devices will be used, and this filming operation, if anything, will reduce the ambient noise level for the day. This newspaper fully supports the termination of the airport's existing permit, while providing the operator an opportunity to get a new permit along with a full EIR. There is no purpose served by blocking filming which has less effect on the community than the normal flying. Therefore, we support this permit along with the benefit of keeping filming in Southern California.
