Wagner and her continuing pandering for the airport has allowed the airport the use of the High Desert auditorium to do a one-sided dog and pony show about their great plans for the community. No opposition groups will be allowed to make a presentation and there is no guarantee that the airport people will allow any public comment. In the airport’s announcement, they claim they will present community groups that support the airport.
We expect them to prop up Joanne Swanson spouting her fraudulent claims that the Agua Dulce Civic Association has approved a deal with the airport. At the 2-17-05 Civic Association meeting the attending members voted a massive no confidence vote and her plan to have the members vote on "her way vs. no way" plan was defeated when it was pointed out that the vote should be "her way vs. revoking the airport’s permit and having the airport apply for a new permit with proper environmental studies".
Swanson misrepresented the Civic Association’s position by claiming under oath the Civic Association (meaning the members) had approved her capitulation to the airport. This false testimony has been brought to the Los Angeles County Department Regional Planning’s attention.
Agua Dulce Airpark Agua Dulce Civic and Agua Dulce Town Council are not leadersAndy Fried from the Agua Dulce Town Council skated on the edge by offering his personal opinion in a time slot for the Agua Dulce Town Council. He later, at the Agua Dulce Town Council on 1-26-05, admitted that the Town Council had taken no formal position regarding the Agua Dulce Airport.
The Planning Commissioner representing our area stated clearly that he had intended to lapse the permit until he heard "support" from these two community groups. Swanson needs to stand up and publicly state that she had no authority from the Civic Association membership to present any support or deal. Andy Fried needs to make clear he was only presenting his personal position, not the Town Council’s position.
Its clearly obvious that the airport wanted to negotiate in secret with so-called leaders to protect the airport from having its permit lapsed as the Planning Commission clearly intended.
Swanson can step up to the plate and correct her testament or to continue to be a shill for the airport and face the results wrath.
