Acton Town Council 1996 elections

Revised 03/04/97

The Acton Town Council is running it's usual phony election. The candidates are some of the same do-nothings, such as Richard Morris, Kent Masden and others along with some interesting new blood. I won't taint them by even suggesting I support them.

Specifically, this is no of the few times that I fully agree with some of the Acton Town Council members on one candidate, Frank Newcomb.

Mr. Frank Newcomb has stood before the Agua Dulce Town Council and stated that he was a resident of Agua Dulce and not in Acton. He said that if he had wanted to live in a "community like Acton" he would have bought there. Instead he paid "..Agua Dulce prices.." for his property.

His property is a modular located in the Valley Sage area of Acton well within the designated Acton Town Council borders. He is in one of those freak areas that has a Saugus zip code as delivered out of the Saugus Post Office in Valencia. When Acton had no local mail delivery the mail carrier who brought the mail up Serria Highway from Saugus lived in the area and it was the end of their run.

To have Frank Newcomb run for the Acton Town Council after claiming he was an Agua Dulce resident is somewhat ludicrous. But, since he does live in Acton he is entitled to run.

A suggestion would be don't vote for Frank Newcomb.

An even better suggestion would be don't vote at all in the Acton Town 'Clowncil' elections until they bring their election procedures into the guidelines that match as closely as possible the State election codes.

The Council as usual prohibited me from running even though the LA County Register of voters states I am a registered voter in Acton.
