Called to Order 7:33 P.M. by President Dick Morris Jeff Wadsworth and Tom Haile absent, all other officers and members present.
Minutes of May 6, 1996 meeting distributed, read and approved.
Treasurer Ruthann Hileman reported all obligations current . Balance of $662.44
Announcements / Correspondence
Secretary Bill Daniels reviewed the following correspondence:
Incoming
A newsletter from Quartz Hill.
A flyer announcing an open house celebration at Preferred Properties.
An invitation from L. A. County Sheriffs Dept. for members to participate in a City/Town Council Academy . First session to be held May 28 . Purpose to familiarize local officials with department training and procedures.
A notice from L.A. County Library of a public hearing June 13 concerning a proposed CFD.
Gerry Williams announced the following items from the L.A.County Board of Supervisors agenda for May 21 Plans to replace wooden bridge on Soledad Cyn Rd. at Bee Cyn. Plans to trim trees along Soledad Cyn Rd.

Kathy Howald inquired as to status of letter to be sent to property owner(s) of 32032 Crown Valley Rd (ref. . April 15, 1996 Regular Meeting) . Bill Daniels indicated it has not yet been sent.

Planning & Coordinating Chairman Kathy Howald
PacTel Communications Sites - field trip scheduled for 9:00 a.m. May 21 to visit proposed
sites.
Dept. of Regional Planning Hearings to be held May 28, and June 11.
Faith Bible Church School - Foursquare Church CUP specifically excludes school use .
Suggested Pastor Wilson survey area residents before proceeding.
Metro-Link equestrian crossings at Crown Valley Rd. and Aliso Cyn. Rd. should be done next
two weeks.
PacTel / Edison joint use poles (North Crown Valley) should be implemented within two
weeks.
Prop. A Trails - will meet with Tujunga Dist. Wed. May 22 to continue discussion. Sent request to Dave Howard (Dist. 37 ) for public meeting to include water quality. Awaiting response.
File storage shed - Edie Jeske and George Miller coordinating .
Planning meeting originally scheduled for June 11 changed to June 25.
Finance, Ways and Means Chairman Ruthann Hileman : Current funds will be exhausted by operating expenses by April 1997 - working on fund-raising ideas.
Bylaws Chairman Bill Daniels: Nothing to Report.
Kathy Howald suggested consideration of a conduct clause and redefining committees.
Trails, Open Space & Recreation Chairman Tom Haile : No Report
Publicity Chairman Gerry Williams reported that all materials received had been posted in the display boxes.
Utilities Chairman Chrys Hamper : PacTel Communications Sites -will attend field trip tomorrow
Community Standards Chairman Kathy Howald
Wisconsin fence - still working.
Crown Homes sign - Talked to owners , awaiting copy of original permit.
Chrys Hamper raised the issue of signs for Sterling Ridge and Desert Rd. developments
Ms. Howald suggested she submit a list showing locations and descriptions.
Beautification Co-Chair Chrys Hamper
Working with listing agent on 3943 Sierra Hwy. regarding graffiti removal.
Caltrans will remove graffiti on Mountain Springs Rd overpass within 2 weeks
Working with new deputy assigned to graffiti (Mike Mc Poland)
Property owner at 4612 Sierra Hwy. Will start working on cleanup of graffiti in 2-3 weeks.
He is also planning to set up motion sensing alarm.
Soledad Cyn rd. dump site - contacting owners (Western Security Bank).
Kathy Howald indicated that Acton Rehab residents are establishing a beautification
committee to assist the community in trash pickup, etc.
Drainage and Roads Chairman Chrys Hamper
Dave Vannatta has suggested a meeting with the council in August and community public
meeting in October. Has received new downtown flood plain map and list of properties
/owners effected.
Rural Town Council Chairman Dick Morris : Nothing to Report.
Santa Clara River Steering Committee Chairman Kathy Howald : Nothing to Report.
Old Business
PacTel Communications Sites (Dept. of Regional Planning hearing scheduled May 28 ) - Kathy Howald moved to accept position statement expressing community concerns. ( Copy Attached ) Motion Carried -Unanimous
New Business
From the Gallery ù Lillian Smith distributed copies of a survey concerning preservation of former Meryl Adams property. Tim Heath asked about telephone survey apparently being done by Jerry Heidt for Supermarket at NE Corner Crown Valley Rd. / Sierra Hwy. Kathy Howald indicated that Mr. Heidt is working with unidentified Market that wants to have major pharmacy to co-anchor.
The Chair announced the next regular meeting to be held June 3, 1996. 7:30 p.m. Acton Community Center.
