Corresponding Secretary Bill Daniels reviewed the following correspondence:
Incoming
A copy of a newsletter from the Acton-Agua Dulce Trails Council.
A letter from a community member concerning graffiti along SR14 near Red Rover Mine Rd.- Referred to Beautification Committee.
An announcement from Boy Scout Troop 145 regarding the Eagle Scout award to be given to Ryan Farrar at a ceremony to be held at the Community Center on Thursday, February 8.
A newsletter from Quartz Hill.
A letter from a resident of the Antelope Valley, expressing opposition to the proposed opening of the Arrastre Cyn. trail to motorized vehicles.

From the Gallery, Larry Smith announced that he had copies of the Community Standards District Ordinance available on IBM Formatted computer disks for the same cost as the paper copies.
PRESENTATIONS
Representatives of the Angeles National Forest and Tujunga Ranger District on hand to explain their Arrastre/Moody project.
Tom Haile expressed thanks to Forest Service officials Mike Rogers, Mike McIntyre, and Clara Johnson for extending the time allotted for public comment on this project.
The Chair gave the floor to Julie Molzahn, District Information Officer, who introduced the following persons :Nancy Mehaffie-Project Leader and District Resource Asst., Cam Lockwood-Forest Trails and OHV coordinator, Glenn Skaggs-Fire Prevention Technician, Mike McIntyre- Forest Archaeologist, and Clara Johnson-District Ranger.
The team then described particulars of their Arrastre/Moody Project involving fire control to reduce age diversity of foliage and Improve wildlife habitat, as well as construction of a multi-use trail. They attempted to answer questions and concerns expressed from the gallery, specifically regarding safety issues with the multi-use trail.
Clara Johnson apologized for the apparent oversights in disseminating information and indicated requests for extending the time for public comment would be entertained.
A straw vote of those present was taken indicating a nearly unanimous opposition to implementation of the multi-use trail.
The Chair recessed the meeting at 9:15 p.m. and returned to order at 9:25 p.m.
Committee Reports
Planning & Coordinating Chairman Kathy Howald Suggested that a committee be formed to review the U.S.F.S. Environmental Assessment on the Arrastre/Moody Project and prepare a response. The Chair appointed Bill Daniels to chair the committee.
Ms. Howald moved that the Acton Town Council submit a request in writing for a 60-day extension (from March 1st) of the period for public comment on the Environmental Assessment.- Motion Carried
Ms. Howald also Reported on : Progress of acquiring Prop A funds for trails and establishing access through Acton Rehab Center. All parties in agreement. Working on Prop A Application process.
Hi Speed train- Palmdale city officials are lobbying for the Mojave alternative. Committee will meet with them.
Planning meeting to be held Feb. 20th 7:30 P.M. at the home of Bill Daniels to discuss community polling methods on the question of suggested kennel restrictions for A-1/A-2 zoning ordinances.
Finance, Ways and Means Nothing to report
Trails, Open Space & Recreation Chairman Tom Haile expressed optimism with respect to the Arrastre/Moody Project.
Publicity Chairman Gerry Williams reported that all materials received had been posted in the display boxes.
Beautification Nothing to report.
Flood and Roads Nothing to Report.
Rural Town Council Nothing to Report.
Santa Clara River Steering Committee Nothing to Report.

Kathy Howald announced that the Council will present eagle scout Ryan Farrar with a recognition plaque at the Feb. 8, ceremony.
The Chair announced the next regular meeting to be held Mar. 4, 1996. 7:30 p.m.-Acton Community Center. and next Planning meeting - Feb. 13,-Acton Community Center .
