To the Vanguard News Home page There will be a community celebration of her life to be held in a few days. As she did not want a funeral, none will be held.
One of her last public acts was to ask to be on the school Master Plan Committee because of her caring about the school and kids. She did this while recovering from her first cancer surgery and was barely able to walk.
Of course the Kathy Howald's group refused to have her on the committee because they couldn't control her vote or voice.

Again we have lost a a good friend and a tireless worker for the real community. She fought Kathy Howal's park which has become an urban eyesore with its lights, tried to get the library established close to the school rather in the middle of nowhere and wanted to see the kids with a quality high school, not one which has been calld trailer trash high by its students.

We need higher educational goals.
We need to re-open Acton Elementary School.
We need to reinstate CSR.
We need better API scores
We need a healing of our dedicated caring people. People who have proven they have a lot of expertise to contribute.
To follow blindly without reservation is a lack of self-esteem, knowledge and leadership. To put forth questions leads to answers. I hope at this time we will have a school board that not only questions but also listens to the community."
I along with other members of the community will personally continue fighting for her goals.

I called Eleanor Braun, Our Lady of the Harbor. She would come to the Town Council meetings here in Agua Dulce and hold a tape recorder high over her head. When we had the public hearing at the media room re: the airpark, she held that tape recorder above her head just as though she was holding the torch of the Statue of Liberty. No matter how ugly the airport mob became at Town Council meetings, she kept that tape recorder on high. She had a marvelous sense of humor and a sense of honor not seen so much these days. What a great loss for all us, I will miss her. Park Overall
May 5th 2006 This is in regards to the agenda item 7.2 on the May 9th school board meeting. Certificates of Participation (COPs), I would like to state my opinion on the refinancing of the above mentioned item.
For the amount of money the district would save, I feel in the long run that another 11 or 12 years of debt for our schools would not be conducive to the amount of tax dollars (money) without the vote of the people.
I also feel that the master plan should help direct the course of action to help the school board. Again you are moving too fast and this is no help to the community.
